Shipping Insurance

I've added an option for customers to include shipping insurance to protect their packages against loss. This comes in response to growing concerns about delays and disruptions in global logistics, especially given the current political and economic climate.

The insurance covers your order for up to $5,000 and is part of a service offered through Shopify’s integration with a third-party provider. A few important things to keep in mind:

  • I’ve set a flat fee of $50 for this optional coverage. You can add this coverage from the cart page. You only need to add one.

 

  • The insurance is handled by a third-party service (Shipsurance), which means it’s essentially a fourth-party process from your point of view.

 

  • If you ever need to file a claim, you’ll reach out to me directly and I’ll file it on your behalf. Please be aware: these claims can take time—sometimes months—to resolve.

 

  • Needless to say, I don’t define what is or isn’t covered. You’ll want to review the terms carefully, especially when it comes to issues like customs seizures, force majeure (e.g. natural disasters, war, etc.), or any other such events. Again, I don’t speak legalese very well—nor do I particularly enjoy dealing with insurance—but I want you to have the option if it gives you peace of mind.

 

  • I will be able to engage with any such issues for a maximum of 2 weeks time.
