Backstory...

Before I ventured into perfumery, my work focused on human-computer interaction and generative synthesis systems. Professionally, I spent a years in the construction, automotive, and aviation sectors; specializing in knowledge-based engineering and product configuration—developing modular product architectures, configuration workflows, and backend automation tools.

Even though my foundation was rooted in the arts, my school and college projects (in hindsight) always revolved around the same core process: decoding complex behaviors or phenomena, encoding them into frameworks and kits of parts, and then using those to generate multiple solutions that addressed different aspects of a problem.

These diverse experiences have profoundly shaped my approach to perfumery—as a modular, customizable, and system-aware craft. My journey into scent-making didn’t happen by chance, but through curiosity: tweaking artisanal blends in search of something just a little more me. One of my earliest and most unexpected supporters was my dentist—a fellow oud enthusiast who encouraged me to take this pursuit seriously.

A concept that has followed me across disciplines—from design to software to scent—is mass customization, especially what I think of as self-directed, template-based exploration. This is the guiding principle behind X Editions.

Introducing X Edition

X stands for you—the artisanal perfume enthusiast, the connoisseur who wants a personal touch without the extravagant price tag that typically comes with bespoke work. X Edition is my response to that desire: an offering of meaningful customization grounded in craft, not excess. That is to say, an X Edition is the Unscripted + you.

In essence, X is a parameter encapsulating your take on an Unscripted blend.

Think of this as an attempt to bring the philosophy of mass customization into perfumery. You’ll be able to tailor your experience directly through your browser, choosing from a curated and ever-expanding selection of oils, released gradually in a rolling fashion.

X Editions are based on the spray blends currently in stock. For now, this offering is limited to sprays. Each blend will appear here with a set of companion oils—some drawn from the original formula (to amplify familiar facets), others entirely new (to open up fresh dimensions).
