This is a one-of-a-kind blend—an interplay between two Cambodian ouds: the bright, fruity tones of Pursat and the deep, wild intensity of a dark-dark Koh Kong from 2015. The result opens with a rush of cherry and crimson-hued fruit, wrapped in a resinous-leathery darkness.
I sourced both oils with help from Nadeem of Al Hashimi and took creative liberty in fine-tuning their ratio—letting a new kind of dark fruitiness emerge. Swipe it on, and you’re met with a dark red opening, a full-bodied wave of woody richness, and a leathery dry-down. It’s not smoky-dark—just dark. Almost molasses-like, with the depth of a fruit preserve.
The more I wear this oud, the more I believe in this genre—of letting ouds enhance and elevate one another. No rose, no essential oils, no absolutes. Only the ouds.
As with other blends, you can start with a 0.2g sample. If you decide to upgrade to the full bottle afterward, you’ll automatically receive reduced pricing—bringing your total cost per gram in line with the full bottle rate.
